CYBERJAYA, January 31, 2024 – Universiti Malaya Centre for Continuing Education was launched the Satellite Office held in Zhengzhou, China, last 27 December. The project is a collaboration between Henan Zhongying Education Technology Group Co. Ltd and UM Centre for Continuing Education.
Mohd Iftitah Tahril, Head of Diploma UM Centre for Continuing Education, said the collaborative efforts with Zhongying Education Group’s to held the first course in English Language Intensive Course (ELIC), which will provide strong support for students preparing for the IELTS and MUET exams.
He said, the establishment of the office fully reflects their firm determination to expand educational exchanges and global cooperation, with Henan University, Zhengzhou University of Science and Technology, Zhengzhou Shengda College of Economics and Trade Management, and Luohe Food Vocational College.
Meanwhile, Wang Yu, founder of Zhongying Education Group, hopes the set up of this office will serve students from the Central Plains and allow them to move to a new level of international education.
“It is hoped that education colleagues will broaden their horizons in international education and jointly explore new forms of local education. The establishment of the office is a new starting point for foreign joint training and a new way to pursue the internationalization of education.
“I wished the office would become a bridge connecting Chinese and foreign education, allowing local students to share high-quality educational resources and cultivate more talents with international vision and cross-cultural communication capabilities thus injecting new vitality into Henan’s education,” she said.
Ruth Selvaranee Arunasalam, Academic Instructor, UM Centre for Continuing Education hopes to introduce the rich education resources of Universiti Malaya to China through the language courses offered and effectively improve students’ English ability. She encourages students to increase their confidence in the English Language and firmly believes that with the joint efforts of teachers and students, language learning will remain interesting and simple while being able to achieve the expected results.
“I've emphasized that the study of language courses not only lays a solid foundation for students to study abroad in the future, but also helps them gain language skills and have a deeper understanding of foreign culture during the learning process,” she said.
The unveiling ceremony of the Satellite Office of the UM Centre for Continuing Education marks a new chapter in the development of the Malaysian university in China, and in providing a vital cooperation platform. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both parties, the office will play an important role in promoting international educational exchanges and cooperation in Henan, cultivate more international talents, and make positive contributions to the development of education.
